Who You’ll be Working With
Chris is a Chartered Geologist and project manager, with an MSc in Environment, Management and Sustainable Development and has experience in contaminated land assessment, quarry dewatering and the installation of groundwater supply and monitoring systems. Chris has project managed and supervised the siting and construction of ground-source heating and water supply boreholes in a range of geological settings, both open loop and closed loop.

John has 25 years international geosciences and engineering project management experience ranging from oil exploration to water resource management. He is a Chartered Engineer and formed Carbon Zero Consulting, our sister company. His mix of engineering, water resource management and borehole expertise is perfectly suited to the growing demands of the Ground-Source Heating market which requires high quality, independent advice on hydrogeology, engineering, water quality and legislative issues.
Phil worked for 5 years in Scientific Research at the University of Utrecht, on a research project funded by the Dutch Scientific Organisation and assisted in university-level lecturing and training courses. After his return to the UK, Phil has worked as a Hydrogeologist on many large-scale projects including land remediation. He has since joined Water and Energy Field Services specialising in ground source heating project management, assessment and modelling.
ASSOCIATES
Dave trained as a hydrogeologist and now has over 22 years professional experience from all sectors: consultancy, research, public and academia. It was also while in Norway that Dave first became interested in ground source heating and cooling. Like many converts to this cause, Dave was at first disbelieving and it took several months to convince him that heat pumps really did work! On his return to the UK in 1998, Dave took up the challenge of persuading Britons that ground source heating and cooling could also be of relevance to their chilly island. The majority of Dave’s work at present involves some form of thermogeological consultancy and training.
Dave has attempted to place the nascent earth science of thermogeology on a rigorous, documented footing via his new book "An Introduction to Thermogeology: Ground Source Heating and Cooling", published by Wiley in 2008.
Nigel is a certified heating engineer with over 30 years of experience and is our Senior Project Engineer, managing on site contracting and ensuring the components of the project are brought together to meet the expectations of the client. Nigel has completed many of the accredited installer courses offered by the heat pump manufacturers and also training bodies such as BPEC for heat pumps and solar thermal.
